Joey Logano Dominates Phoenix to Win 2nd NASCAR Cup Series Crown
The third championship moment of the weekend belonged to Joey Logano with a blistering race to cap off the NASCAR Cup Series in Phoenix. The No. 22 car for Team Penske Ford led for 188 of the 312 laps (60 percent) en route to the title. The 32-year-old driver captured his second NASCAR Cup Series title by holding off the other three drivers in the Championship 4 — Ross Chastain, Christopher Bell, and Chase Elliot. Chastain (3rd) was the only real threat late in the race after he spun Elliot (28th) down the stretch.
Fun Fact: Logano joined former teammate Kyle Busch as the second active driver on the circuit with multiple championships.
